Commanding Wind and Cloud

Chapter 486: A Man of Responsibility

It was Marc Gavin!

The President of Torrent Battle Fort in Yulee.

Qian Jin seriously doubted something was screwing with his visual and aural perception, otherwise, why would he see the bear body and hear the harsh voice of Marc Gavin in the number one bandit group’s territory?

But he did see the man walking over! Yes, he recognized the hard-featured face. It was Marc Gavin who he had not seen for ages.

"Kid, I’ve been worried about you!"

Reaching out his hand, Marc Gavin nudged the heavy body of Te Jofy aside without much efforts and pounded on Qian Jin’s chest with his giant fist. "Thank god you are alright!"

Qian Jin still couldn’t believe his eyes! How could Marc Gavin show up here? It was the place where Bhang Wusheng’s bandit group was stationed! The bandits around clearly knew Marc Gavin wasn’t one of them but they bore no hostility as if that ugly creature was invisible.

"Uncle Marc..." Qian Jin put himself together and asked, "Why are you here?"

"Bhang Wusheng sent someone to our battle fort. He must have checked your information."

Checked him? Qian Jin nodded his head. It was perfectly reasonable. As the Bandit King, of course, he would make a thorough investigation of some nappy-headed boy popping out from nowhere.

"I heard you are staying here for a few years?" Marc Gavin immediately threw out the question that concerned him the most.

Qian Jin shrugged his shoulder and said: "Yes."

"To be a bandit?" Marc Gavin frowned. "That’s not a smart choice! I will talk to Bhang Wusheng later, to see if I can get you out of here."

"And me, if you can!".

Relaxing his neck, Zence Matten approached rocking his folding fan. He seemed tired, but he smiled as usual.

"No way."

A calm but overbearing voice once again drifted over to their ears.

In a dignified manner of an emperor, Bhang Wusheng strode over and said to Marc Gavin, "I sent someone to notify you so you could rest assured. Who would know you would have come to the Frontier. Just so you know, I’m afraid of neither Torrent Battle Fort nor Yulee! I just don’t want you to run wild in my place!"

"Bandit King, what Yulee can offer, I’m afraid, is beyond your imagination..."

"I know!" Sitting cross-legged on the floor, Bhang Wusheng raised his hand, suggesting for the crowd to sit. Though he was on the ground, people could not help thinking that he was on a golden throne. "Qian Jin, the president of the Yulee Blacksmith Union and future president of both your Torrent Battle Fort and Wudo Group! I also heard the Pharmacist Union had approached him. He even has the Mayor’s full support!"

The surprise was written in Yi’s face. What did Bhang Wusheng mean? Qian Jin had not only earned the support of almost all the forces in Yulee but also won control of some influential organizations! Unbelievable!

As the center of a region, Yulee had been more than a small town. It could be said that the forces there had spread all over the region! For other cities in the region, the unions in Yulee were benchmarks!

Looking at Qian Jin, Yi thought about himself at Qian Jin’s age. Back then, he was still a nobody in a war academy while Qian Jin had achieved so much!

"I believe... " Bhang Wusheng raised his hand and pointed to Qian Jin, "For this man, Yulee would pay anything... "

Marc Gavin heavily nodded. That was why he was here to negotiate! York Leigh had already said he was willing to contact all forces he could as long as Qian Jin could be rescued.

Zence Matten couldn’t stay calm any longer! His weary eyes were fixed on Qian Jin. Was he really so strong?

"I just received a letter written by Isabella from the Punitive Expedition Academy." From his Warrior Dimension, Bhang Wusheng took out a piece of paper scribbled with a few letters. "Qian Jin is my student. Give him back to me!"

The countable words must have been scrambled down with arrogance, which was by no means inferior to that of Bhang Wusheng! Qian Jin could even see the ferocious face of his principal behind those figures.

A war academy was a place that was easily overlooked. People tended to think of it just as a school that did nothing but train warriors, mages, and other students. Only men of power knew the seemingly soft-eggs were absolutely nothing that everyone could mess with. Once there was an outbreak, it could rock the world!

Of course, the threat was not from the students still in school but those who had already graduated. This huge collective force was, in fact, an unbreakable network centered around the schools and connected by various fields.

One could not see or touch the network. But if activated once, the aftershock would last long enough.

A bandit group in the frontier would never ask for trouble by provoking a war academy, even it could unite with any other groups. Generals in Zence were now divided into small groups according to the academies they had graduated from. No one dared to mess with those mighty groups.

"The girl should stand out and speak for you. Now I am more intrigued!" With a gentle smile, Bhang Wusheng put the letter back into his Warrior Dimension. "I would kill Qian Jin as long as she dared to make a move. Bandit King would never be induced or threatened by any influence."

Marc Gavin was stunned! Although he had never seen Bhang Wusheng before, he thought the man could be bought but by benefits as long as he was made from flesh and blood. He hadn’t expected this.

"Since you own the Yulee Blacksmith Union, I suppose you are good at forging?"

Calmly enough, Qian Jin looked at Bhang Wusheng right in his eyes. The man was so aloof and so overbearing. Others might be afraid of him, but not Qian Jin! He had already been immune to this kind of presence. Compared to Eulalia, this Bandit King here was at best a second banana.

Blake was like the most ordinary farmer. But after hanging around him for a long time, Qian Jin had also learned not to care about a man’s presence.

In the eyes of a farmer, the greatest things in the world were the heaven and earth. With those two things, he could plant crops. Warrior power and magic were nothing to them. No matter how strong they were, they couldn’t defeat nature.

Qian Jin had learned to take everything coolly from the natural philosophy. So even Bhang Wusheng was now asking the question with the superior affection like an emperor, Qian Jin was still calm and easy going.

"I don’t know if I’m good or not. I just learned for a few days."

Bhang Wusheng raised his eyebrows. He had deliberately been pressuring this young man, whose reaction was surprisingly swift and steady.

"Pharmaceuticals?"

"The same."

"I have enough best materials here. Help yourself." After a moment, Bhang Wusheng added, "But you must pay, by making equipment or potions."

"Same value with the material or..." cool as he was, Qian Jin looked into the eyes of the emperor, "with my product?"

Yi was surprised to find that Qian Jin had always calmed himself while confronting against Bhang Wusheng. He wasn’t in pursuit of an equal footing but he wasn’t suppressed either. If Bhang Wusheng were a gust of wind, Qian Jin would be a cloud. The cloud would pull itself together after the wind blew over.

Yi knew it for sure that Qian Jin was way better than him in regards mental toughness. In response to stress, Yi would definitely fight back until he couldn’t anymore. The untroubled state of Qian Jin was something he would never obtain. He just couldn’t ignore Bhang Wusheng!

"Oh..." With a faint smile, Bhang Wusheng said, "What do you think?."

"Same with the material, you will lose," said Qian Jin while pointing at himself. "But same with the product, I will lose! I don’t want to take advantages, but I also don’t want to make myself take a loss."

Narrowing his eyes, Bhang Wusheng nodded his head. More often than not, a young man in this age had a heart swollen with pride because of some achievement, in order to cultivate the so-called temperament. But Qian Jin, he was pure, simple and straightforward. He was special!

He was a man of responsibility! Bhang Wusheng was pleased. "That being the case, how about twice the material price?"

"Fair enough."

Qian Jin shrugged his shoulders. Having been tyrannizing in the Frontier for so many years, the number one bandit group must have saved abundant resources. It was just about time. He had intended to make some modifications to the [Shoot Moon] Bow and at the same time forge some more pieces.

Although he had plundered a lot of materials while he was playing a bandit hunter, it was still not enough.

Provided with an opportunity to use the materials nearly for free, Qian Jin didn’t plan to play modest.

Slowly standing up, Bhang Wusheng looked up at the floor ceiling and murmured to himself, "Fairness is a life pursuit of mine. Son, send me a notice when you are getting to the work."

"Bandit King..."

Bhang Wusheng turned around and shook his head at Marc Gavin. "He gave me his word that he would stay here for the following five years. Of course, he could leave in advance if he defeats me. If you insist on taking him away, I won’t mind a war with Yulee even the Zence Empire. I rule the Frontier and I’m not subject to any jurisdiction or threats."

"Marc..." Qian Jin pressed down the angry bear who was about to speak again. "Sit. I owe this to Hayen Brianna. As a man and a warrior, I must pay it back."

Marc Gavin could do nothing but shake his head with a long sigh. "You could have told me..."
